Executive Letter

Welcome to Historic Ships in Baltimore, home port of USS Constellation, USCGC Taney, USS Torsk, Lightship 116 "Chesapeake", and Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse. On board the ships and in our collection lie the stories of thousands of people who lived and served on these historic treasures.   We hope that this website helps you appreciate the history of our sites and inspires you to visit. We also hope that you will see the ships and lighthouse as pieces of American history worth supporting and that you will join the many individuals and families who think so too and become a Museum Member.

You could spend all day on board the ships and when you visit, we hope you will take advantage of the many hands-on demonstrations and activities offered every day by the ship's uniformed crew. We also offer an audio tour of USS Constellation to compliment your visit at no extra charge. Our goal is to provide an experience that you will enjoy, remember and tell all of your friends about.

Whether you are a scout leader or school teacher looking for a unique experience for your students, a family visiting Baltimore for the first time, the descendant of a crewmember or a scholar of naval history we are confident that you will find your visit to the Museum exciting and rewarding.

Thank you very much for visiting our website and we hope to see you on board the Historic Ships soon!

Sincerely,

Christopher Rowsom
Executive Director
