Historic Ships in Baltimore provides outreach programs for both school groups and adults. School presentations usually consist of a multi-class assembly followed by instruction in the classroom with a uniformed crew member. Dr. John Mills Brown speaks to students on what it was like to live and sail in Mr. Lincoln's Navy. His sea bag is full of items which paint the picture of life on board from the medicines they took to the food they ate.
The museum also offers outreach to adult groups. Museum staff can present slide shows and power points on the ships and their histories.
