Baltimore's Inner Harbor is easily reached by car, bus, or train:

By Car, From the North

Via I-95 South: Take I-95 South through the Ft. McHenry Tunnel (toll) to exit 53 (I-395 North, Downtown). After exiting follow signs to the Inner Harbor. Take a left on Light Street - the Inner Harbor will be on your right. Historic Ships in Baltimore is located on Piers 1, 3 and 5 along Pratt Street between Light Street and President Street.

Via I-83: Follow I-83 South to the merger of I-83 and I-695 West. Continue on I-695 West / I-83 South about one mile to Exit 23A (I-83 South, Downtown). Proceed on I-83 South until the expressway ends at Exit 1 (Fayette Street), at which point it becomes President Street. At the next light, Lombard Street, turn right. Follow Lombard Street six blocks to Light Street. Make a left turn onto Light Street and travel one block to Pratt Street. Turn left onto Pratt Street. The Inner Harbor will be on your right. Historic Ships in Baltimore is located on Piers 1, 3 and 5 along Pratt Street between Light Street and President Street.

By Car, From the South

Via I-95: Take I-95 North to Exit 53 (I-395 North, Downtown). After exiting follow signs to the Inner Harbor. Take a left on Light Street - the Inner Harbor will be on your right. By Car, From the West

Via 1-70: Proceed on I-70 East to Exit 91A (I-695S, Glen Burnie). Take I-695 to Exit 11A (I-95 North, Baltimore). Proceed on I-95 North to Exit 53 (I-395 North, Downtown). After exiting follow signs to the Inner Harbor. Take a left on Light Street - the Inner Harbor will be on your right. Historic Ships in Baltimore is located on Piers 1, 3 and 5 along Pratt Street between Light Street and President Street.

By Penn Station Train

Historic Ships is located approximately 2 miles south of Penn Station. From Penn Station, visitors may travel to the Inner Harbor via taxi or via the purple route of the Charm City Circulator, a free city shuttle bus. Visitors can catch the bus outside of the station at the corner of St. Paul Street & Penn Station Drive. Next, exit the bus at the corner of Light St & Pratt St, then walk east one block to reach the Inner Harbor. Click here for more information on the Circulator, including maps & schedules.

By Light Rail

Visitors can also take the Light Rail into the city. In this case, exit at the Convention Center stop, which is located at Howard and Pratt Streets. The harbor is located four blocks east on Pratt Street.

By Metro Subway

The closest metro station to the Inner Harbor is Charles Center. The easiest way to get to the harbor from Charles Center is to exit via the Calvert Street exit (at Baltimore Street, between St. Paul & Calvert Streets) and walk south on Calvert, about 4 blocks, until you reach the water.

Parking

Historic Ships in Baltimore does not have onsite parking, however parking is available in garages and open lots around the Inner Harbor within walking distance of the exhibits. Large Vehicle/Coach Parking

Historic Ships in Baltimore is unable to offer parking for large vehicles or coaches, but there are nearby areas in the city where these vehicles can stay. Click here to learn more about large vehicle parking with the Baltimore Visitors' Association.

Loading & Unloading Zone

Area One (West) - Baltimore Visitor Center, 401 Light Street

Ten-minute loading and unloading is allowed in the bus staging lane of the parking lot at the Baltimore Visitor Center (enter lot at Light Street and Lee Street) at the Inner Harbor's West Shore on the northbound side.

Area Two (North/East) - National Aquarium, 501 E Pratt Street

The National Aquarium bus turnaround area is sanctioned for loading and unloading only. Staging is prohibited.

Area Three (South) -Maryland Science Center, Key Highway/601 Light Street
Motorcoaches and buses may drop off in the bus lane off of Key Highway at the rear entrance of the Science Center. Please contact the Maryland Science Center for more information before arrival.
