Beginning November 3, 2025 Historic Ships in Baltimore, an operation of the Living Classrooms Foundation, will undertake a full renovation of the rigging on the USS Constellation. This vital preservation project will conclude by April 1, 2026, ensuring the ship is ready for the busy spring and summer visitor season as well as the Sail250 celebration, a signature event commemorating America's 250th anniversary.
The rigging will be taken off the ship and placed on Pier 1 of Baltimore's Inner Harbor, where over the next six months each component will be inspected, repaired, or rebuilt. All work will happen right on Pier 1 and can be viewed by the public. In late March, Constellation will be re-rigged and restored to her historic appearance.
