USCGC Eagle: America's Tall Ship in Peace and War

Join author Will Sofrin for this exciting preview of his new book, USCG Cutter Eagle: The Legacy of the Coast Guard's Flagship - on the same day Eagle herself arrives in Baltimore for Sail250!

This 45-minute talk weaves together rare archival images and film footage, including material never before shown to the public. The program spans Eagle’s full history from its early years as a Nazi training ship through its transformation into America’s maritime ambassador and its present-day voyages. The talk blends these historical materials with modern imagery from recent sailings and vivid, first-person accounts of life aboard. It concludes with an open audience Q&A.

The talk will take place on the mess deck of USCGC WHEC-37, bringing two historic Coast Guard vessels together for this unique event.
